Smog 'N Go, LLC is an emissions testing company based in the Sacramento area of Northern California. We opened our first shop in January of 2000, and currently we have 5 shops. Smog ‘N Go performs more vehicle emissions tests than any other company in California. How We are Different Our goal from the very beginning has been to be California's #1 place for emissions testing. The idea for Smog ‘N Go started back in July of 1998. Jack Williams was waiting to get his wife’s car to be tested. As he sat waiting for the test to be completed, Jack made a mental list of all the ways he thought the experience could be improved. A year and a half later, Smog ‘N Go opened, implementing Jack’s ideas for a better customer experience. Faster and More Efficient Our motto is “In and Out in a Hurry”. We can smog most vehicles in less than 15 minutes, and it’s rare to wait more than half an hour, even when we are busy. Dedicated Service Writers: Typically, with most smog shops, the same employee handles the customers and does the smog checks. At Smog 'N Go, each of our locations has friendly service writers whose main job is to take care of the customers, leaving the technicians free to take care of your vehicle. The process should not have to grind to a halt every time the phone rings or another customer arrives. Multiple Pull-through Bays: The typical smog shop is built from a converted garage or gas station. Often there is only one service bay where the vehicles have to be pulled in and backed out. Smog ‘N Go facilities are built from the ground up with efficiency in mind. Each shop is built with multiple, pull-through bays, so we can test more than one vehicle at a time, and we don’t have to shuffle vehicles around. Even when we are busy, we can get you in and out in a hurry.
