Horseback Rides at Mormon Lake, AZ Our rides depart from the heart of Mormon Lake, Az and will take you through the Ponderosa Pine trees of North America. With wildlife abundant in the area you may see elk, deer, foxes, raccoons, bobcats, and possibly a coyote. Horseback riding in Mormon Lake is a unique experience for all ages. Horseback riding in the pine trees gives you a new look at the forest. Let’s saddle up and ride! Our trails are good for beginner riders and families. Riders of all levels will enjoy our horses and trails. Please note WE DO NOT RUN our horses due to the mountain terrain, possible ground burrowing animals and other natural wildlife for the riders, and horse’s safety. You must always listen to and remain with our staff. KOLI EQUESTRIAN CENTER The typical ride begins after some instruction from the wrangler, and then you’ll saddle up to begin the ride… Our wranglers love taking people on this ride along some of the most spectacular forest trails. Koli Equestrian Center is located in Chandler and serves the greater Phoenix, Arizona area. We have customers that come from all over the country to enjoy horseback riding. We cater to riders, from the novice to experienced, singles to large groups, and families with children. Our horseback rides are enjoyed by customers that simply want an experience on a horse in the Arizona sunshine. All of our trail rides are designed as “walking” rides to keep it simple and gentle on both riders and their horses. However, if you are an experienced rider and you’re interested in something that requires a greater skill level let us recommend a Private Ride. Private Rides are the best option if you want to head out to see where the wild horses still roam freely and it’s amazing how close we can actually get to them on horseback. We have something for everyone, so come on out and have some fun.

Great experience for our Girl Scouts troop!! May 2022 We had a group of 9 Girl Scouts (ages 6-10) and 3 of our parents rode! Everything was so organized from the very beginning. Amber was right on top of everything, immediate responses to emails and answered all of our questions so that we were prepared. The Horsemanship 101 class really taught our young girls about caring for horses and saddling, we really enjoyed learning. I like how we were split into 2 groups, while one group rode the other participated in the class. Mason and Ben were awesome with our troop and made it very comfortable and relaxing especially for those that were a little nervous at riding (like me). We had so many laughs, big smiles and great memories! Thank you Koli Equestrian for making this a great experience for all!

High Mountain Trail Rides are fun and adventurous! Aug 2021 I so enjoyed our first ride with High Mountain Trail Rides in Mormon Lake. My family and I booked the 2 hour ride with Roger as our guide. We loved every moment of it. It wasn’t the usual boring flat ride, it was a fun ride with inclines and declines that had you paying attention. It felt like a real western ride. There is so much history out there and Roger was all too happy to share it with us. My teenage kids were thrilled and asked when we could do it again. That was our first ride with High Mountain Trail Rides but it is definitely not our last. Well worth it! Thanks Roger for an interesting and fun ride.

Great time Aug 2021 My husband and I have a cabin at Mormon Lake and the guys were working on a home improvement project so my mother in law and I kind of decided on a whim to go horseback riding. It’s been many years since I’ve been on a horse so I was a little nervous. Robert, our awesome guide, immediately put me at ease and our horses, Big Mama and Nico were wonderful. The horses look very well cared for and had calm demeanors. We really enjoyed Robert’s personality and his knowledge of the Mormon Lake area. I can’t wait to go again!

Great Fun in the Desert Apr 2022 • Family Our wranglers, Sydney and Chewy, were amazing! Great ride through the desert with fun facts on the land and amazing horses. Special shout out to Chewy as he was incredibly kind to our kids and put them at ease. He put the girls at ease, gave them a huge case of the giggles and he made them official fans of the desert. They made him imaginary cupcakes as a thank you. Biggest smiles from these kiddos. We'll be back!!!!

A perfect way to spend time in nature. Jul 2021 We had a wonderful time riding horses with AZ Trail rides. The weather looked iffy, but our guides were flexible about waiting out the rain while keeping safety in mind. Very appreciated, as it's a bit of a ride to the stables. We had a relaxing ride through the pine forest; it was just beautiful. The staff was very knowledgable and personable. The horses were magnificent. This was my first time on a horse; I would definitely go again!
