About Oba Kitchen
OBA Japanese Kitchen is the best Japanese restaurant you've never heard of. They serve high quality sushi, poke bowls, and bento boxes. Classic beer serving, so don't expect craft. Though I've never needed craft with sushi. The place is in an odd little shopping center at the corner of Stockton and Broadway in Oak Park/Tahoe Park.
WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING ABOUT US
I'm my opinion one of the greats. I've been here a half dozen times and the staff already know my order. Bento box with teriyaki chicken and shrimp tempura. Everything here is Japanese perfect and in abundance. Great Miso, teriyaki chicken perfectly sliced thin and grilled to perfection. Shrimp tempura, four pieces, not skimpy for a bento box: price is unbelievably priced at $10.50 + $2.00 unle for shrimp and chicken. I've never walked out of here with a ticket over $15 and leaving a $20 to cover it all is still a great deal at most Japanese eateries. Highly recommended my favorite spot near home

My fiancee and I recently moved to Sacramento and have been looking for some good sushi that also retained it's flavor and freshness through takeout, and this place really delivers.
We got the 8 Pieces Real California Roll, Double Salmon Roll, Cucumber Salad and Salmon Sashimi it was divine. The sashimi was cooked really well, and we were given generous amounts of ginger and wasabi!
The rolls were wonderful and the cucumber salad was so refreshing. We're very lucky this place is close by and doing take out... We'll be ordering again :)

Great food, great service, a hidden gem. for covid-19 takeout they have no inside seating, so if you walk there, you will be waiting outside. Not an issue, just FYI.
