Our philosophy at Kinder Haus Pediatrics is to provide excellent evidence-based healthcare with focus on preventive medicine. We believe in compassionate care and pride ourselves on the relationships that we develop with families over time. While there are many facilities providing excellent healthcare in this area, the benefit of a small solo practice is the comfort of seeing the same knowledgeable healthcare team at every visit. Dr. Amy Garcia is a board certified pediatrician with the American Board of Pediatrics and a fellow with the American Academy of Pediatrics. Dr. Garcia is originally from Louisiana where she completed her Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry at Louisiana State University of Shreveport. She completed a Medical Degree at University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio in 2007 and a residency in Pediatrics with the US Air Force at the San Antonio Uniformed Services Health Education Consortium in San Antonio in 2010. Dr. Garcia then served in the Air Force at Andrews Air Force Base in Maryland for four years before separating from the military and moving back to the area. Dr. Amy is married to her husband who is USAF retired. Dr. Garcia and her husband have four daughters, one son-in-law and two very active mini Aussie dogs. Dr. Garcia enjoys spending time reading, gardening, taking nature hikes and vacationing with her family (mostly to Disney). M. Suzanne Basey MD is board certified in Pediatrics and has been practicing medicine in the San Antonio area for almost 24 years. She was raised in San Antonio and now lives in the Texas Hill Country. She attended St Mary’s University in San Antonio for her undergraduate degree and completed Medical School and Residency at The University of Texas Medical School at Houston, now McGovern Medical School. She and her husband have 4 daughters and a rescue dog named Bailey. In her spare time you can find her traveling across Texas for her youngest’s dance competitions (she always has a video to share) or visiting her girls in college and watching some Aggie football! After a brief hiatus, she is overjoyed to be practicing once again with Dr Amy Garcia and very excited to be a part of the Kinder Haus family.
