Bernardo Perez has extensive community experience that spans over four decades, including twelve years on the Moorpark City Council, including a term as Mayor. Since 2010, he has represented District 4 as a Ventura County Community College District Trustee. Durning this time Bernardo has: Advocated for and produced affordable housing choices for working families, farmworkers, Seniors, and Special Needs populations, Increased the availability and access to healthcare. Saved taxpayers over $12 Million Dollars and reduced long-term obligations by $53 Million Dollars. Increased future federal funding to the city of Moorpark by approximately $26 Million Dollars. Helped prevent the closure of our local Navy Base while saving related civilian jobs. Helped implement Living Wage Ordinances in the cities of Oxnard, Port Hueneme, Ventura, and the County of Ventura Cut utility costs by installing solar panels at our three community colleges and added over 250 Electric Vehicle Charging Stations at our community colleges.
