First time having omakase. And it was the best sushi I have ever had. It was so good after taking pictures of the first four I forgot to take pictures of the rest

Brand new restaurant with amazing food and service. The fish is fresh and the nigiri and rolls rival Kru and other high end sushi in town. Highly recommend!

Been there 4 times now and every time the service is friendly, the serving plates are so elegant, and the sushi and tempura dishes are always fresh and delicious. Definitely one of the best sushi places in Sacramento.

The name sums it up pretty well - if my elementary Japanese is correct, Azayaka (pronounced: a?za?-ja?ka?) means "Bright future" which describes the restaurant quite well. The staff were helpful, the fish was fresh and the prices were good! I seldom see that combination at a sushi restaurant in Sacramento. The aesthetic of the restaurant is very modern, bright and upscale and the staff were knowledgeable and helpful. I had the pan fried pot-sickers, the Rich Asian roll and the sushi nachos. Everything was prepared rapidly and was exceeded my expectations. I plan on visiting again soon!

Ugh. I almost don't want to leave this review because I know once everyone figures out how amazing this place is it will be constantly packed. We got the mixed tempura, miso soup, small sashimi box, sassy roll and a Azayaka roll. And a soju flight. We may have over ordered but it was our first time. This place is incredible. We love sashimi and are so used to getting the same old same old when we get chirashi and sashimi mixes. That is NOT what we got here. The box was beautiful and we received hotate and great toro plus squid. We loooooved the fried lotus root, pickled wasabi and crunchy chili oil garlic that was paired with some of proteins. The rolls were beautiful and delicious. The mixed tempura included eggplant, which is one of my favorite vegetables. This is hands down one of the very best sushi places in Sacramento. I don't think it's totally fair to compare it with somewhere like Akebono(who has amazing ramen and lunch bento) or Kru (does lots of fusion) but if you are looking at just the sushi and sashimi, I haven't found anyone local who can touch Azayaka.
